As part of University of Ghana's 70th Anniversary celebrations, this year's Registrar's Seminar will focus on University Management and Administration in Ghana over the last 7 decades.
Adopting a panel approach, the seminar will unpack critical issues pertaining to the role of administrative and professional employees in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The panelists will discuss past and current systems and look critically at emerging trends. This highly interactive seminar is expected to start the conversation that will redefine the roadmap for the delivery and assessment of administrative and professional services in HEIs.

T he University of Maryland, Eastern Shore (UMES), USA, will assist Technical Universities to revamp the hospitality and Tourism industry in Ghana through a capacity building programme. The programme which includes an exchange of staff and students, is aimed at tackling the shortfalls in the sector. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between UMES and Accra Technical University (ATU) together with other Technical Universities and Polytechnics at the Accra City Hotel on Thursday 8, June. World Bank Donates $500,000 To Kumasi Business Incubator (KBI)

The World Bank has donated Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($500,000) to the Kumasi Business Incubator (KBI) Centre of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) to sponsor young innovative students with business ideas. The money which came through the Ministry of Communications is to help the KBI Centre further its aim of supporting student entrepreneurs. Professor Kwasi Obiri Danso, Vice-Chancellor, signed the contract for the money on behalf of KNUST. Prof. Obiri Danso expressed his gratitude to the representatives from the World Bank for their noble act. He then challenged the ICT Department at KBI Centre to come up with a Tracking App which would make it easier for students to track shuttle buses operating on campus at any point in time.  Mr. Samuel Yaw Akomea, Head of KBI Centre, said that, the Centre organises mentorship programmes where experts are brought from the private sector to train students at the Centre.
