GIMPA Partners TEN Ghana for McDan Entrepreneurship Challenge 2018

The Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) has announced a partnership with entrepreneurship firm Today’s Entrepreneurs Network (TEN Ghana) to organizer the McDan Entrepreneurship Challenge (MEC) 2018.
The competition which is funded by business mogul Daniel McKorley, known widely in the business circle as McDan, is providing a $100,000 support to young people.
The competition will provide an opportunity for youth with business ideas to compete and win $25,000 to fund their businesses. Fifty (50) young people will be selected to compete for the ultimate prize in the reality TV show which will be aired on selected TV stations across the country over a 9-week period.
“On 1st January, 2018, the registration portal opened for young entrepreneurs to apply to partake in the competition, a statement from organisers of the competition, Today’s Entrepreneurs Network (TEN Ghana), said.
“McDan is investing $100,000 to support young people with bright ideas as part of his dream to help create more millionaires in the country. Tertiary students with entrepreneurial ideas as well entrepreneurs (between the ages of 16 and 29 years whose businesses have existed between 1 and 3 years) are eligible to apply for this competition,” the release added.
“Youth unemployment remains the biggest national security threat to our dear country and the McDan Entrepreneurship Challenge is seeking to help empower young people to confront this danger by creating their own jobs,” the statement added.
GIMPA will be providing training and other logistical support for the competition.
