T he University of Maryland, Eastern Shore (UMES), USA, will assist Technical Universities to revamp the hospitality and Tourism industry in Ghana through a capacity building programme. The programme which includes an exchange of staff and students, is aimed at tackling the shortfalls in the sector. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between UMES and Accra Technical University (ATU) together with other Technical Universities and Polytechnics at the Accra City Hotel on Thursday 8, June. The Chair and Professor in the Department of Hospitality and Tourism of UMES, Prof. Emmanuel Acquah who elaborated on the agreement, said the collaboration would stimulate beneficial outcome for stakeholders. He, therefore called on stakeholders, both public and private to actively get involved and work towards its success.
